HO alternator or not?

LOL, i got a gp3k too!!
Sweet amps, they don't really like being run on a single yellowtop though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Trust me, I have a blown one sitting on my desk at work still waiting to be fixed...

EDIT: lol, we even run the same subs, except I'm only running one 18" BTL

Ok guys need a lil advice. I'm rebuilding my system soon and im starting from the ground up.Of course ima do the big three. I currently have a good energizer pro batt up front and a 600 charge tank in the back on 0 guage. With a 3000 watt monoblock running 1500 rms. I have it all in a 98' buick lesabre with a stock 150 amp alternator. Im going to be at least doubling maybe even tripling my power duting the rebuild. As it stands my lights dont blink or dim since I added the sec. battery. Should I upgrade my alt. or not? Getting bigger batteries and more wireing is not an issue at all since I work at a car audio shop.

I bet you still cant match my deka batts price of 100 plus shipping thats a hard price to beat for a batt thats a little better than an hc2000

Just a lot of my time. It's at work because I'm an electrical engineer...so it's waiting for me to repair it :p
ah, i see. and lol...i was thinking about changing my major to electrical engineering....is it really hard as people make it sound, school wise?

honestly, this is SERIOUSLY the comment of the century. everyone thinks shops know what they're doing. i was talking to a guy at a local shop about setting my gains this is what he literally said " yeah i usually turn the gain up all the way and i mess with the bass boost till i hear distortion." clowns man CLOWNS!!

i only visit a select few shops to talk to them and they are previous record holders/winners in major spl leagues

So your upgrading to at least 3kw (possibly 4.5kw) and your not sure if you need an HO alt?

aaahahahahahaha great picture....makes perfect sense

well you have to like math...a lot. So far I've had, Calculus 1, 2, & 3, Linear Algebra, & Differential Equations. Along with Physics 1 & 2, and Statics. It's kind of a ***** because none of it has much to do with my major (at least directly) it's just building on the fundamental math that the electrical equations rely on. So yeah, it's kind of tough. My school also offers an Electrical Engineering Technology which doesn't focus on the fundamentals as much, and is more hands on lower level stuff. If your not confident in your ability you may want to consider something like that. I don't really know what the cutoff is but when I was talking to the dean he said my ACT score (29) made him believe I could handle the harder course.

hey fyi I havnt been working here very long...my bad for not knowing everything right off the rip. Im trying to learn arent i? I'm not like most of these lackies around here who just say well hell idk ask the next guy...I actualy take my time and research and ask others who know what theyre doing. I'm willing to admit when i'm wrong...

yes your trying to learn but maybe you should have left the shop part out of your story... it just builds on the bad names for shops
