HO alternator help...

So my alternator (HO alt, externally regulated) stopped charging my battery today and I'm wondering what would cause this...

If the External Voltage Regulator was the problem, wouldn't the alternator just freely charge at max output until it was stopped or battery blew up or something? So can I rule out External voltage Regulator as the problem?

I Haven't checked my relay, but if that wasn't workin would it cause this problem?

I've checked all of my wires and connections and they are all soldered properly and connected well.

God Forbid, if the alternator was the problem, how would i be able to figure that out?

right now 11.2 car on or off, doesn't matter, slowly been going down as my battery has been draining (don't worry I'm not driving, this is just in my driveway). It was working for about 2 weeks, and all of a sudden nothing, I've checked my relay and external voltage regulator and those aren't causing the problem, and I've check all of my connections and fuses and they are all just fine too... so it's led me to believe there is something wrong with the alternator... I just hope I'm wrong

Irraggi 200 amp alternator, it's either 75 or 125 amps at idle, not sure cuz I bought it used which is why I'm so pissed. And it's in a 4.0 OHV 1999 Ford Explorer

Well sounds like you alt isnt putting out any juice, did you read the thread on Irraggi?
connections?

regulator?

fuses?
checked them and double checked them, resautered ALL of my wires, tried the Alternator without the regulator connected, replaced all of my fuses (though none of them looked blown)... But maybe there is another way to see if the regulator is the problem... I'll go look at the thread

k will do, Running on my stock alternator for now... man is it disappointing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
