so tonight i was involved in a hit and run. My hood, right headlight, right fender, and bumper are all ****ed. My insurance wont cover uninsured motorist so what do i do?

seriously? No ****ing help? The entire front of my beloved truck is fubared, i am so fcking pissed. And no it was not my fault, i came outside with it in this condition.

and you shouldnt come here for legal/insurance advise

have you called your insurance company to make sure they dont cover uninsured motorist?

Either you have crappy insurance, which is your fault...or your wrong adn they do cover it, which would still be your fault, lol.

Sucks dude I know what your going through, my car was hit less than 2 weeks ago, but my insurance covered it. BTW if you live in any kind of big city, the police will probably be useless...they wouldn't even come look at the car, I had to drive to the station to file the report, and EVEN THEN they didn't come outside to see the car, they just took my word for it...

2 issues here.....

#1. shitty insurance if they really don't cover uninsured

#2. shoulda bought a real truck and you would have no damage and a disabled car in the front yard this morning!

Same thing happened to me when i was 17, got hit by an uninsured motorist and my insurance doesn't cover it. It did $3500 worth of damage to my Jeep. That happened like 6 years ago and i'm still getting monthly checks for $35.

 

Gotta contact the police and settle things through small claims court or the state prosecutors office. I wrote a letter to the state prosecutor stating what had happened w/ a copy of the estimate and started receiving checks like 6 months after that. They prosecuted the woman for me and i obviously won because she was at fault.

my insurance is going to cover it, 4k worth of damage, just got done talking with the field person who wrote the estimate. ill be putting it in the shop later on today hopefully and getting my rental. $1k duductble ftl, im still trying to figure out if i have uninsured motorist coverage, that would take my deductible down to 250.

Yep its pretty shitty but at least the money came in some how... Its in a high interest savings account, so when its all said and done with ill have a nice sum of money for myself.
