Hissing sound

I installed a complete system on my suv. Sounds good but when I turn on my EQ I get a hissing sound. Is this normal or did I connect something incorrect?

sounds like a ground loop or poor gain structure.

yeah, i'd look into the grounds first. Eliminate ground loops and eliminate the stock ground, see if it makes any difference after each mod.
