High quality Drum solos?

Song: Moby Dick

Artist: Led Zeppelin

Album: How The West Was Won (Disc 2)

the whole song is basically a drum solo.... its 19 minutes long...

its a live recording, so "quality" might not be that great.

That sucked............dunno why everyone is so crazy about this vid.
ive been playing drums for 30 years, that video is an amazing work by an amazing

drummer (and hes only about 9 yo) its like a good subwoofer, some guy with a 10"

funky pup thinks its the shiz cos he doesnt know jak about subwoofers.

if you knew anything about drumming (not lights and fish in drums and crowds

applauding and mutiple drummer solos and volume etc) but actually whats involved

in rhythm, syncopation, dynamics, off and on beats, contra beats, ghost notes etc

etc, are, you would be able to appreciate that video.

try this,

get your computer (or any computer) wired into a good soundsystem, set the

volume and levels so its wanging, shut your eyes and play that video again, focus on it for the whole

7 mins, if you are not completely floored by the skill power and rhythm of that

drummer you may as well forget about listening to any music ever again.

I've collected a lot of drum stuff! sandy nelson, brent lewis, Gabrielle Roth and the Mirrors, and even LOTS of loops and samples! Maybe look here

I like this one for a change of pace

with loops you can mix it up to make your own tunes to suit your taste! Just get acidpro,.. or you don't even need that. I mainly use soundforge,... what I sometimes do with soundforge is edit a track to suit my taste, and sometimes I'll mix in a cymbal crash or drum loop or whatever.

Gotta second any solo by Neil Pert...

Not a solo but you should give a listen to Planet Drum but Micky Hart...

Its a nice compilation of various drumming from around the world.

Also grab a live album of jazz great Dave Brubeck (any will do) his drummer (I can't remember his name) always goes off for at least 6 mins (Ive seen him live three times and once he soloed for 15... it was wild) and it too cool. He's got to be at least 50 and he is as good as anyone...

Other drum solos...I hate to say it but some old Motley Crew when Tommy Lee was playing the drums was as good as any metal / rock solos..

Also Bonhams kid... can't remember name... he is good...

Also album called Drum *** is killer but very hard to find...

Probably not of much help... but maybe...

'Amon Amarth- Death in fire'....not too high of quality...but its a pretty good beat in the beginning...but then it goes into some death metal deep throat singing which im not too into...but the intro is awesome to crank

That kid was great haha. That Erik 3200 guy needs to be hung by the neck over a couch that is on fire... but ya.

And Tool drums are sick. I'm downloading some stuff as we s[peak, and smpling others. Great stuff!
