DC Power.....Like the man said....and as far as alternators..I have an Excessive alt. and it does not do even close to what he said...I even sent it back he told me it was fine then charged me again to send it back

**** them lol i just called they tried to tell me its a custom one off and it would cost $649 plus $25 shipping and be a max 200 amp alt im gonna talk to mechman FTW
