I Have A 1987 Buick Grand National That Has 2 12w6 Jl Audio Woofers Running On A Jl Audio 1000/1 And My Mids And Highs Amp Is A Jl Audio 450/4.the Problem Is When I Turn It Up Pretty Good My Mids And Highs Go Out,but If I Turn It Down They Come Back On.i Think My Alternator Is Going Bad Because I Had A Kinetik Battery On It That Went Bad Then I Bought A Optima Battery And It Still Does It.how High Of A Amperage Alternator Can I Get For My Grand National And Where And How Much.im Ready To Buy One Asap. I would contact Mechman for that alternator, theyd have options for you...and it sounds like there's a problem with your wiring/amp if its the mids/highs that are the problem

GM large case should bolt on. Have you checked your stock alt with a DMM yet?

being an 87 you may want to redo your factory charging system wiring (called the big 3 around here) with better/larger wires also

Isn't it harder to type like this than to type like normal people? I would go with the Mechman alt being that he has one in stock and they are very good alts.
