Ok, you guys have officially made matters worse. I really don't know which way to go with this project. I love my single MT 18 and that's why I was gonna get another with my new amp, but now I just don't know what to do?? When I bought the Goliath I was thinking that it would be more than capable of pushing two MT 18's but doubt has been shed on the subject?? I'll go ahead and tell you what I had in mind for the enclosure and that may help. I was thinking 12 cubes net with 180 square inches of port tuned to 31 Hz. Let me know what you think?

Yes.

That one amp would be fine for the mt 18s

A single Goliath for a pair of MT's would kill as a daily setup. Do it and you will be happy.

I definitely concur. Now it's just a matter of finding myself another MT 18 with dual .7 ohm coils for a good price.

Wont find a new one cheaper than that.

And when it says dual 1, it is really .7, thats the dcr.

I am somewhat puzzled by your statement above because there is a guy here in my town that won the SS 1-2 NW class this year and from what he has said to me RE has a dual .7 AND dual 1 ohm coils. He said that the dual 1's are fairly new and that they are actually longer than the .7's helping the woofer stay in the magnetic gap longer, retaining the motor force.

Im pretty sure they are .7s

Call RE to be sure. I know it was like that for the SX's. The nom is 1 ohm, and the dcr is .7

mt's are very efficient subs believe it or not..and 2500 per 18 will get crazy loud depending on box

All in good time. It will be just a little while longer before I have my other 18. The only type of comp I will compete in will be a bass race. I just don't want a fart wagon. If I were going to do an all out spl setup I'd put a single Goliath on the 18I already have. I'm going to do a street beater that is going to be well capable of doing a nice hair trick.
