i think my new crossfire vr-2000d might be junk

i just bought a crossfire vr-2000d that was apparently modded to handle high voltages and .5 ohm loads. well, today i hooked it up just to see if it worked, and to my dismay, it wasnt as loud turned up 2/3 of the way as my nine.1 was at 2/3. this amp should do more than twice the power of the nine.1 so im a little confused.

it does play, bass sounds fine, its just not loud. i have both power supplies hooked up, a 1/0 gauge from my battery going back to a dist. block into 2 4 gauge wires, and just 2 4 gauges at the back grounding the power supplies. my electrical system is very solid, and both power supplies are getting 14.5 volts. the remote wires are both getting about 13.2 volts. i have just one remote wire from the deck back to the amp split into 2 now, havent gotten the relay yet, i was just testing out the amp to make sure it worked. the speakers are wired up to give a 1 ohm load, and they are plugged into the correct speaker terminals for mono operation, so it should be giving me like 2800x1, but i'd guess its doing about 800-900x1.

is there anything else i can do to troubleshoot this thing? is it possible only one power supply is functional, and the amp still works but with only half the power?

Check the output voltage of the amp with a dmm.

the 2000 is a strong amp, should definately be more impressive that a 9.1...

lol... you guys wont believe this. im ashamed to even post it. i had the wrong rcas plugged in, i was running my component signal through my subs. instead of the +10 sub output on my deck, i was running the -4 front signal to them lmao. needless to say, they didnt hit very hard. i hooked my nine.1 back up and got the same weak response, then it hit me. this thing wangs my 12's lol. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

these amps will do .5 ohm stock?

they'll do even lower than that

say i bought some of the new d2 mags, would it be alright at .5 ohm daily? its in the back of my hatch and usually if im bumping hard the windows are down, so my amps get good airflow.

x2 on the .5 daily.

Im not going to say its safe, but i ran mine at 1ohm daily

well i pretty much have to run it at 1 ohm daily, having 2 d4 drivers. should be alright as long as i dont bump it for hours right? overheating is the problem, isnt it? so i just need to keep an eye on it for a few days to see if its getting hot? things only turned up about 2/3 so i dont think it'll be a problem.
