I think you just may have forgotten what the manual actually says.It was in an owner's manual for a bx2005 I used to have.
But since you are in this thread, why not clear up this discussion.Do they or don't they?I think you just may have forgotten what the manual actually says.
Being the person that wrote the manual, I can assure you it did not say 169 max!
It is 200 amps.
if they draw a max of 169 isnt that 2028 at 12 volts? The 2kwatts Brutus has a max rated current draw of 169a. Unless its about 125% efficient its not making 2kwatts. Realistically you'll see 1600 & change.
Uhh...even at 12.5 volts you get over 2100 watts, and anyone running or trying to run that many watts should have the electrical to handle it anyway, so say 13.5 volts even which gives over 1800 watts at 80% efficiency. They rate their amps at 14.4 volts as do most others...so there's no reason to assume they don't do rated power.Yeah, at 100% efficiency with ZERO voltage drop. I see you've never actually done any REAL testing.
I clamped one at 14.4 volts........got a measly 1576 watts out of it.Uhh...even at 12.5 volts you get over 2100 watts, and anyone running or trying to run that many watts should have the electrical to handle it anyway, so say 13.5 volts even which gives over 1800 watts at 80% efficiency. so now amps are 100% efficient //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif? and hifonics amps at that?if they draw a max of 169 isnt that 2028 at 12 volts?
