Hifonics Brutus Amps underrated???

Are Hifonics Brutus mono amps underrated?

I didn't have personal experience with them and consider purchasing one,

specifically Hifonics BXI1606D Brutus.

Currently using Kicker ZX750.1 (gives 900@2ohms) to power my SW9122.

IMO, hifonics amps are pretty good, not sure about them being underrated or not, but it is pushing the hell outta my two 12x exonic ample subs

I'd say the 1606 does around 1400 but thats just an educated guess

my 2607d does rated power, but i think the first brutus models were slightly overrated by 100-200RMS

At 2ohms it says it gives 1100watts and if its in fact overrated by 100-200RMS then its just equal to my kicker 750 (900RMS@2ohms) - so no reason to change the amps then.

i do not know how people say they dont do rated power when they have never put them on the bench. i will vouch for the bxi2607d. for the money it is a good buy. and it does rated power.

Right. Besides, for those that think an amp is overrated or underrated by a couple of hundred watts and it make a difference (by ear) when the wattage is over 500 rms is crazy. It makes even less of a difference the higher you go. Its like being outside and comparing what you feel is 95 degrees and the thermometer saying its 90 degrees. Its still hot!

just divide it by cca 1.2 and you'll get real figures
