Hifonics amp problem.

I could not find what this means but the amp powers on(the hifonics symbol lights up). But both the red light(protect light) and green light(power) flash back and forth..What does that combonation mean? Thanks. by the way, the amp was working before and just started doing this randomly.

It is the brutus bxi2006d. I took it to a shop just to make sure it was the amp and they said it does the same thing but they also dont know what that means when the lights flash...

have you tried calling Maxxsonics 847-540-7700, sending emails usually take a while if not completely ignored. They also have a forum that you might post a question on or do a search.

lol, no, my cousin paid i think like $400-500 about 5-6 years ago or whenever they first came out. He let me barrow it since he had it sitting for like 2 years. And now i probably have to buy him a new one but the newer models are only like $250 now so its no big deal. I was just hoping this one was fixxable..

take it apart. i think it may have corrosion, or its fried. i had a friend with the exact same problem, only it was a DUAL amp.

I took it apart. didnt see any burn marks or it didnt smell burned.

Well called them right now and at first they said it was probably a bad ground, but i told them i took it to a shop and it did the same thing. So they said it probably needs to be serviced and gave me a number to audio clinic in california to call. I read their website and they said at most $75 labor plus parts and shipping, so more than $100 probably. i think id rather just buy a new amp..
