Just got my Hifonics Brutus 1210D amp hooked up. It's powering 2 12" p3's wired at 2 ohms. Both subs are new and so is the amp. Amp was working great for about an hour now it's kicking out.... Doesn't go on standby or anything, just kicks out to about only 5% of it's power (subs don't hit at all and can't even tell if they are going but are very very very faint). Idk why but then i press on the +/- hookup block or the fuse or really anywhere, the amp will start to work for a short period (5-10 seconds) then just kick out again. This amp shot? somthing maybe loose inside? any ideas would help, i'm stumped.

are your subs dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm subs.

im betting yer wired up wrong.

that, or you have a crappy ground

or, you have a pinch in your RCA cable.

when you say +/-, do you mean power/ground or speaker terminals?

They are 2ohm subs, wired at 2ohm. Pretty much when i press on any of the terminal block and press hard or wiggle around the actual block where the wire run into, it will kick. Does that with the fuse when i press hard or the remote knob wire. Thats why i'm thinking it may be internal. Ground is good, i checked that. I checked my wiring all the way to the back of the CD play (also new). And changed all my fuses... hmmm

if they ARE the 2 ohm subs they cant be wired to 2 ohm per sub the p3 only comes in dvc 2 or dvc 4 so which ones do u have?

im betting you have the dvc 2 ohm p3 subs and you wired all of it in parallel to the amp like this:

if you did it correctly you would only have a 2 ohm load at the amp with 2 dvc 2ohm subs which isnt enough power anyway for the p3

They are DVC 2ohm. I have them wired correctly

Thats the diagram from the manual. it look right???? I brought the setup the a local audio shop and they said the amp is fried. I don't know if it was junk from the start or if i did somthing wrong. The only conclusion they had for the reason of why it blew is i had my ground with 2 different butt connectors cause the cable was too short and had to add lengths. They said every connector i loose power and thats what fried the amp. I just sent the amp back and should be getting another one and in the meantime i rewired a new ground in with different wire and to a different spot also. Anyone know how i should properly go about tuning this amp? is there really any way to tune an amp or is it all personal pref? i don't wanna mess this one up too haha... Thanks in advance for the help..

What you mean by this exactly? the RMS coming from the amp is 900wrms and the subs are putting out 400wrms x2... thats pretty much a perfect match if not slightly overpowered. I don't know if i get what your saying...
