Quick question for an amp

Hey guys I have pair of jbl GTO1204D. I have a power acoustik a3000db. I think i blew the amp but i don't know how to tell. The power light comes on but it does not push the subs like they are supposed to. I opened up the amp and looked inside, everything looks fine and what that surprised me was that there was no fuse inside or outside the amp. So i went to circuit city and bought a rockford fosgatae amp that is rated 1000 watts rms. I have my subs hooked up at 4ohm and the amp is rated at 500 watts at 4ohms. My question is, would it be wise to send my power acoustik amp back in so that they can fix it for $120? I plan to take the rockford fosgate amp back to the store because it is not worth 600 bucks.
