i have a clarion DPX1001.2 specs are
1 Ohm Stereo / 2 Ohms Mono Stable
1000 Watts Into a Mono 2-Ohm Load
Amplifier Type: 2-channel
RMS Power @ 4 Ohms: 250W x 2 @ 4 Ohms
THD at 4-Ohm RMS Power: 0.5 %
Bridged RMS Power @ 4 Ohms: 900W x 1 @ 4 Ohms
Bass Boost: 0 - 15 dB
Frequency Response: 20-20,000 Hz
Signal to Noise Ratio: >95 dB
Fuse Rating: 80 amps
i innitially had it connected to two pioneer TS-W307D2D4 subs specs 400W rms 4 Ohm dual voice coil. connected as shown in diagram http://www.crutchfield.com/learningcenter/car/subwoofers_wiring.html?amptype=2%2DChannel&suboptions=2%2DChannel%5F2%2D4ohm%2DDVC
after few months of use one of the sub fried i guess amp was delivering too much power i also have another amp which is sony xplod XM-D9001GTR specs 550 Watt 4 Ohm on 20-200Hz THD 1.0% at 14.4V DC single channel or 900 Watt 2 Ohm at 50 Hz THD 1.0% at 14.4V DC single channel. i want to be heard a BLOCK away. Is there a way i can connect both of these amp at once i have a ported box which holds two 12" i wana buy subs that will deliver all the power provided by these amps at max. anyone suggest which set of subs would be my best bet (best bang for buck). there one more concern i have. Would 15" subs be heard from a greater distance then 12" how does the size matter? any inputs on that would be greatly appriciated thx
