Hertz: HSK165 or Milli?

If its for two sets of components (overkill BTW) then its standard SRP price. If its one set of comps and just and extra set of midbasses, then its above SRP.
That is where I am confused, and where my newbie-ness shines through. What is a "set"? How many speakers are literally in a "set" of components? 4? 6? 8? And can you describe which of each "set" does what?

I'll put it this way....I have a Mercedes Benz E430 which, by default, came with an 8-speaker system. My installer has told me he will replace all of the speakers EXCEPT the two 6x9 subs that are in the back panel by the back window. I will keep those, because I don't have the room or money to buy 5 channel amp.

So, that being said, will ONE set of components cover all the 6 speakers I am replacing?

a SET of components includes 2 tweeters and 2 midbass and you are receiving 2 tweeters and 4 midbass which is OVER SRP according to Don. As far as that covering your' 6 speakers, A lot of people on here run just 1 component set (2 tweet 2 mid) and say that is better so you don't mess with staging but if a car is properly staged you'd probably want to run some type of rear fill IMO just for passengers. I really don't mind not having rearfill, I think its a waste of money unless its a showcar or you have extra speakers laying around.

wouldnt it be 4 tweeters & 4 midbass?

btw i love my hsk165s. i am saving for the mlk2 3-ways. if not i'll just buy the ribbon midranges alone and incorporate that into my 165..run active then //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

edit: to answer your question, if you can afford the milli go for it, but be sure you hear how they sound first to see if YOU like them.

"properly staged" and "just for passengers" dont work well together.. properly staged (with exception to 5.1/7.1) would be just front stage - no such thing as rear stage. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

oh i see now. in that case it sounds like he's ripping(loosley) you off since you arent getting the 2 tweeter you are paying for anyways.

Just letting you know I went with the Hertz HSKs and the Audigy SRX 5 and it sounds great! Still need to learn how to tune my Alpine H701 though. Gonna get better with time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fro.gif.c695f1f814b01c4ad99fe7f8cccadd29.gif
