The speaker mid's bass is very strong....a bit too strong to be frank. I am running a SoundBlaster Audigy 2ZS notebook card, and within the software sound mix menu, I have to turn down the bass slider down all the way to like 20%. It might be the Alpine's EQ putting out enormous bass as well though.

It's good stuff.

S/PDIF digital out from the soundcard directly to the Alpine processor. The thing that's interesting, is that because the signal is now so PURE, it appears, at least to my ears, that I am now hearing the limitations of mp3. My wav files sound smooth as silk playing through foobar. But my trance mixes, that were recorded at 320kbps mp3 directly from a turntable, sounds harsh and bright. I thought I knew...I can't see pictures at work was the reason I forgot.

Also....got the baffle installed. One day I will remember to keep it simple.
