Hertz HSK165. Going active tomorrow.

i coulda got audison amps, but i didnt want just 1 audison amp, and they are costly:crap:

make sure you have a 9v batt or drill batt to pop the speakers so you know exactly which ones you are hooking up where, dont want to get the wires backwards

quit giving excuses and go out there and do it;)
audison amps are roughly the price of the RF amps. and u forgot to mention to make sure the drill batt is 12v, had a guy test his door speakers on his drill battery and the dumbass forgot that it was a 14v battery.

First off, what should I use at an x-over point just to start with for my tweeters and roughly how much power.
3khz +/- 1/3 octave or so.

And Hertz says the LP on the mid is 50hz or so. What should I set mine at? or Will it all be dependent on what I want/like?
Should be the HP on the midbass/range, not LP. The LP is up near where the tweeters are HP'ed. 50hz seems low, but you need to consider slope as well. What x-over points are available on the processor??

I've never blown a midrange from crossing it too low. Listen attentively and you will hear when bad things start to happen.

hahahahah suckers!!!! I'm running active now. And I love it!!!!!! Still need some tuning on my time alignment. and... Hertz ratings at power handling are kinda off.... well really off.

Anybody wanna help me w/ a slope.. To be more specific, what is it? and what's it do? I got it set now to were I think it sounds good. btw cold play - see you soon... That is the best sounding song in my car so far.

160 is really high for a LP, i set my pro's at 110hz @ -24db, but thats because im running a good bit more power to them

usually mids are LP at around 80hz, depending on your system, maybe 60hz if your not running too much power

with the tweeters, i would think the HSK's might be crossed a tad bit higher, but i dont have much experience wiht them, if they sound good at 2.5k then let them be

do you have an option like 12db or 24db for the slope? or is it fixed?

what about hertz's power rating?
