Deflex pad

I have my doors deadened in about two layers. Do I need to remove that (just for the pad area) or could I just put the pad on top of the deadening material and glue it in place?

Anything, really. They come with super glue. I've used spray glue.

Thing is, you need to clean the back of those well as they're coated with some type of surfactant. Acetone, perhaps.

Put it right on the back of your deadener. Clean it up, put some glue on it and the back of the pad and secure it so that it doesn't slide off while the glue works up.

Thanks, I figured liquid nails would work...lol. I've never used it but have been reading up on the deflex pad. Figured for $20 bucks why not try it.

Yes, the deadening has voil backing...I used fatmat and B-quiet both...

i'm on the verge of buying some too. Since i won't be keeping that car for a long time, i figured out that deflex pads could be remove and reinstal, right?

what place to buy them, any difference in brand ? does it help out midbass or not?

ps: my doors are dedeaned, only one layer of dynamat extrem tough...

waste of money --usless peice of rubber

WRONG! I installed a pair in my car few weeks ago. I was able to bring my mids down a full octave without any breakup(50hz now).

edit: I used 3M High 90 to glue them. I sprayed the panel where I was going to glue, then I sprayed the back of the pad. waited about 1 minute before sticking it on. its a hit or miss, i had kind of roll my pad to fit into the door through the baffle and you get only 1 shot to line it perfect, cause once it sticks on its a ***** to take off especially when its real tacky

edit2: i dont think they are worth $20, they are a peice of rubber. I would not spend more than $10 on them if I had a choice. I bought my set from mr.marv for $5
