Hello to everyone, I am new to this forum and don't have any experience with car audio so I am turning to you for some help. I live in Italy and I own a 1999 Alfa Romeo Spider. I want to upgrade the sound system and have choose an Eclipse cd3100 head unit. Since Eclipse is not sold in Europe I am ordering from the states. My problem is that I can't seem to find a wiring harness for my car. I want to know if it is at all possible to hook up the stereo without a wiring harness, if so how do I go about doing it. Any and all advice is welcomed, and I am thanking you all in advace for your input.

do you know how to take your old deck out? a picture of your cars wiring harness would help. connecting wires together isnt hard

The new head unit needs constant power, key-switched power, ground, and connections to each speaker. If you can identify these wires in your vehicle, then you can connect them directly to the head unit without an adapter harness.

Keep in mind that head units sold in the US have an FM tuner that's not compatible with European radio. (US FM stations are all odd numbers: 97.9, 98.1, 98.3, and so on; most tuners sold in the US can only tune these stations). If you plan to use the new head unit to listen to radio, you might want to make sure the Eclipse deck will work with the stations you like.

Thanks for the info, if I run into any problems I will try to seek more information from this site. I was informed that the Eclipse deck is compatable with European stations.

there are adapters u can use, they're not expensive..i used one on a chrysler voyager a couple of days ago...shouldnt cost more the 10€
