Help?

So, I was unhooking my sub/amp setup to sell them today.

What I did was, undid my rcas, power and ground, but I left the remote wire. This is because I spliced into the remote wire from the head unit, so what i'm saying is I left a live wire, attached to the head unit. I planned to undo it from the headunit completely, but first i decided to test it, I wrapped the remote wire in electrical tape and turned it on, NOTHING! Did I ground out my headunit and fry it? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

uhh, I dont understand what you're asking.... do youj mean you tested it with a DMM and it doesnt give you 12v anymore?

No that was my next move. I mean I left the wire *****, just sitting there and turned my car on, the car comes on along with everything else, but the headunit does not... at alll...

I used the stock headunit and simply spliced into everything, noob I know, but it worked and was to be temporary only. It wasn't touching bare metal, I covered it in electrical tape and had it tucked under the carpet so it was out of the way. It theory I guess it was SITTING ABOVE metal... but the wire was not touching it

Ok, so this will be internal in the head unit correct? Or is it just on the outside of one like an amp would have it? I don't remember seeing one... but I could be wrong.

Ok Well I checked the fuses, none of them were bad.

I used a DMM and checked the remote wire with the ignition on and off, off nothing of course, on I got a full reading, yet still not head unit power?
