Help with Wiring and Stuff.

Hi,

I am kinda new at this, but i recently got some car audio equipment, I picked up a 10" JL audio W3V3 4 ohm subwoofer, A rockford fosgate P400.2 amp to power the sub, I plan on getting 6x9" and 6 1/2" speakers to replace my stock ones too and an amp to run those as well, but not sure which yet, But my question is: Does wiring make a big difference in sound quality and stuff? If so, please note what would be suggested for this amp and subwoofer?

Another question? When i get my 6x9" and 6 1/2" speakers and 4-channel amp to run them, Does wiring make a difference in sound quality and stuff? Or is it even necessary to get good wires?

One last question, Do you guys think i should get a yellow top optima battery to replace my stock battery in the engine compartment?

Copper wire is usually the best route to go for the least amount of resistance in the wire. The cheaper wires are only part copper. Larger wires are required for longer runs to help with the resistance.

As for speaker wire it usually wouldn't matter either, some people get EMI (Electronic Magnetic Interference) and say to get twisted speaker wire to reduce chances of getting it.

Seems to me ur gonna need about 4AWG from the front battery to the back, than a distrobution block and either 4AWG or 8AWG to the amplifiers. Than U can probably use 12-14AWG speaker wire for the subwoofer and 14-16AWG for the speakers should be okay.

It depends on what the stock battery is and how much power it holds. If ur gonna only be playing the system with the car on than if ur alternator provides enough power for the 2 amplifiers than u probably wouldn't need to upgrade the battery at all. But if u do plan on playing for long periods with the car off (1 hour +) than it'd be a good idea to either replace it with a yellowtop or get a yellowtop as a 2nd battery for the back. Maybe even look into different brands (like Kinetik)
