Im just curious if I do a cutout leading into the cab, if it would even sound good for all the trouble I will have to go through...
Im been searching this forum, and it seems the big truck guys just seem to put small subs behind there seat, or put computers in their trucks. lol. I want big bass, so I have to figure something out.
I know the center console can be taken out and can be made into a sub box...I could easily fit 2 12's in there..Make a console box going from dash to back seat...hm
I need ideas!
I thought this was the cool thing to do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
Ultimately biggest thing I think is it depends on the year of the truck. For F250's 99-04 (04 is a switchover year I think) the rear seats are different. With the early trucks you can do a modification to the brackets to get more area behind the seats. For the 05+ (and some 04) trucks the back seat is a different design and would take some metal fabbing to move the seat.
I can't tell ya what to do but I can give ya some ideas of what there is to work with, behind the seat in the newer trucks 2ft^3 is about all your limited to and with only 5.25" mounting depth max, which doesn't leave ya with too many options. For big bass I would go with a center console from the front of the dash to at the least the back of the front seats, this should give you at least 2.5ft^3 or more depending on how much height you wanna go with and if you want any storage in there. Go right to the back seat and should be able to make something really big.
Otherwise if that won't work for you then I think your only left with a blow through as an option.
Here is a 13w7 in the center console in 2.9ft^3 ported (not sure tuning)
I would think that would be a bit too tall to be comfortable but only by a few inches, by going up to the dash you could easily drop it down a bit and keep the air space.
Thinking of it now with the 99-04 trucks I think you could fit a pair of Q's behind the back seat once the brackets were flipped. If your looking for more than that I would definitely do a blow through, but go BIG on that, something along these lines maybe
Something like a pair of DD9515's
150's with ease and maintain 5-6 person seating capacity //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
Hope it helps ya out even though this thread was fairly old...
