I'm lookin to buy some subs, first time buyer. Looked on Crutchfield, way overpriced IMO, Im looking for some serious kick, but want to keep the price down, preferable around 500 if possible. I drive a Dodge Stratus Coupe, so it doesn't have to be anything huge to give me some kick. I have no clue where to start on buying these and need some help...I was thinking 2 12s and 1000W Amp, but everything Im lookin at is gunna be like 800 bucks, am I missing something or what.

I was planning on buying a sealed box..

Edit: and another question, ik very stupid to ask here, but when looking at the subs I have been looking at RMS, is higher RMS = More Kick/Sound or is that not necessarily true...

Ok, So this amp (HiFonics 1500W)(Wont let me post link for some reason_ will give 1500W of power, Do I need a Woofer that will take 1500W or Can I settle for something around 600W for the Woofer. Will it blow?

Thank you for your help btw haha

that amp will do 1500 watts @ 1 ohm, but will also do 1000 watts @2ohm and 500 watts @4 ohm. so if u get a 600 watt sub u could use it, just run it on the amp at 4 ohm so it only gets 500 watts so it wont blow

Ok so with the 1500W Amp, 500W at 4 ohm means that each speaker is getting 500W, that will give me the kick Im looking for correct?

Klash, I have no clue, why Im here dude

Outside, Dont know what that has to do with me but ok.

178.00 on OnlineCarStereo, and Depends, Dont want to go way over the top, this is my first system so ya. Prolly round 500 I was thinking

You could do the 8" as a front sub on its own amp and use it to bridge/enhance the gap between your 12" in the rear to the midranges
