Help with premier

I have a problem with my DEH-P880PRS. I go to wire it up in my 98 bonneville and it does not turn on. Then when i go to turn the key off to the car, the deck beeps and the faceplate pops open and then goes back up, so i know it has power and i had it in this car before and it work. Also the factory radios lights dont work anymore, so i dont know if that is the illumination or what?? any suggestions

sounds like you could have the illumination and 12v+ ingition wires backwards.
