Ok i bought this amp off eBay and i connected in my car but every time i turn the car on it immediately blows the external power wire fuse. doesn't matter if the musics not even turned up past vol. 1 just immediate blow. i know its not a matter of a small fuse because i hooked up an identical amp and it was fine at full volume. any ideas? not very experienced with amplifier repair so advice would be awsome

Double check all the wires going to the amp. This might sound stupid but sounds like you got the power wire going to the neg. on the amp... If everything is fine, then you might have a bad amp...

all wires are fine any ideas how to fix the amp?

Nope your best bet is to send it back to the seller. If no refund is accepted then your shit outa luck.

EDIT: That wouldn't be the same amp your selling on your sig is it?

No lol the amp im selling is a T5002 (The Power Elite Series) the amp im trying to fix is a P5002 ( The Punch Series)

One of the problems with the P5002 was that many installers stripped wires near the amps and the amp itself was open enough to allow a tiny strand of wire onto the circuit board. This resulted in an amp that would go "poof" as the tiny bits of wire shorted out components on the circuit board. The problem was so common that RF released a technical bulletin that stated to either strip the wires away from the amp, or cover the amp if you had to strip the wires close to it.

I have a working P5002 somewhere around here if you need any circuit board shots. The only hard thing about a self repair is removing transistors from the MESHA strips. That is a pain in the ***!
