Appreciate expert advice...

Car: 07 Subaru Impreza WRX

HU: Pioneer DVD 4050

Recommended by Shop:

Front: DLS Iridium 6.2i; tweets and mids in stock speaker location

Sub: JL 12W3 (installed in truck with amp)

Amp: Rockford Fosgate P400-4

Sound deadening of two front doors (Dynamat, i believe)

I'm a noob at car audio, that's just looking to do a 1-time investment. I'm just looking for better sound quality than the stock speakers. I listen mostly to rock & lounge music at temperate to slightly loud volume levels.

I posted this in the amp section, because I have least knowledge on Rockford amps. I've read much about JL and DLS as brands, so i'm less worried about them (though I still don't know much about them).

Will this set-up do? Will the individual parts match? Any suggestions to make this better (without significantly increasing cost)?

Attached a sample pic I was shown, for the instal of the sub & amp.

By the way, the cost quoted converted to US is $1,100, inclusive of installation and the set up at the rear.

Eh, I think you could do better buying everything seperately and installing yourself or paying to have what you bought installed. You could deffinitly get better equipment for 1100.

Thanks... but if i'd install myself, i'd probably screw up something.

Any comment if the pieces recommended will do well together?

specially the amp... i don't know much about the amp. will the amp match the recommended iridiums & JL sub?

i've read quite a lot about the speakers & sub from this forum. haven't found anything negative re: DLS iridiums or the JL sub.

If you are just looking for something basic and don't want to spend alot of money that will work fine. But personally I would swap out that amp for something a little better. Those are the lower end line of Rockford amp's. The sub itself is fine but that's another thing I would switch out if they carry anything better. Would you be willing to purchase a sub online and let the shop build the box and install it or would you rather have it all come from the shop?

You're right in saying I want something basic.

I'd rather it all comes from that shop. He also has DLS amps but i'd have to cough up more money. Would a higher end amp have a significant effect on SQ?

DLS RA30? or DLS A5?
