HELP with my crossovers. PICS INCLUDED!

About a month i ago i purchased Alpine SPX-17REF, Alpine SPS-600, and Hifonics HFi100.4 to power them.

Installation went ok. the Rears (sps-600) sounds great. Its getting the exact sound i was looking for. But on the otherhand SPX-17REF (fronts) which cost me triple than the rears did does not sound good at all. it sounded somewhat muffled and sounded like only half of the volume its suppose to be. Couldn't hear anything from the tweets either. and its the same on the both sides. Has anyone have this problem before? is my corssovers toasted? not sure if you guys can tell by the pics.

after few days of getting frustrated:rage: i just took out the tweets and crossover and running only the speaker. (which sounds OK, volume sounds where it should be, but sucks cause i have no tweets for my fronts!)

Anyway to test the crossover to see if they work properly?

Is it my amp? What settings should my amps be in?

On the "input" do i have to power both tweets and woofer?

You problem have the wiring wrong and the installation wrong. With those comp, I would deaden the doors. Maybe get a amp with more power too.

How do you have the inputs wired on those x-overs?? They look to be bi-ampable. Are they?? If so then you may not have the tweeters hooked up right.

In this pic it looks like you have your positive and negative shorted out. Is that bare wire touching each other on the terminals??

No, it is not bare wires touching. they are Knu Karma SS 16 Gauge Speaker Wire. Honestly, it seemed all fancy so i went those. but im not really crazy about them.

What does bi-ampable mean exactly? So should i have my current 4ch amp power just the components? 2ch going to speaker and the the tweets? or somehow split them?

yes you can hook up one channel to each speaker or you can just at a jumper wire to get to both +'s and -'s.
