Help with mounting depth

Hello I just have a simple question about mounting depth. I have a box for under the seat of my quad cab ram 1500 and online it says it has a mounting depth of 6" but I took out the sub I have in it now and it's deeper than that. My question is would I be able to put a sub with 6-1/16" mounting depth? Would I be able to trim the box a little? Thanks any replies would be appreciated

it'll probably fit, im sure they were conservative on the measurements, why not just measure the depth with a tape measure?
