Help with line out converter

I just had a 4 channel amp installed in my mazda to run some front component speakers. The sound is horrible, there is noise, it cuts in and out, etc. All the connections on the amp are fine. What do you all think is the problem?

stock headunit? and you cut into the rear speaker wiring?

Yes, stock head unit. Spliced into rear wires. Sound is horrible- sounds ok on radio but horrible on CD's/.
