help with jeep grand cherooke infinity system

Okay so my friend blows some speakers in his jeep grandcherokke and asks me to replace them. He has the premium infinity system, but when I pull out the front two speakers, they are 2". WTF.

I cannot find anything to fit them, so I get him rockford fosgate tweeters, 4 ohm p1t and wire them up with cross overs, but they blow with in 2 days. Pissed off and wondering what the hell to do.

He wants to leave his stock amp and misses the front fill these gave him, what to do?

TIps hints ideas?

We thought about getting little capacitors on the tweeters instaed of the cross overs to block the midrange frequecnies and keep the highs.

i had the infinity gold system in my jeep, just took all the speakers and amp out before I sold it, it' was a 95. :/.. this post was pointless lol.

My tweets blew, then my 6.5s blew, then one of the 6x9s in the back. THis was all after I changed out the radio. Those factory infiniti speakers ****. I did have some pioneer tweets that didn't blow.

just mount them somewhere else. i bought the alpine type S and the tweets wouldnt fit in the stock position in my '96 GC laredo, so i just mounted them on the dash. hid the wire and they look and sound great.

Frequency response is a little low for good front fill. Get some 3.5" speakers, and use those. It MAY take a little modification, but they should work.

I'm looking for some tweets to replace those exact ones your bud has. The closest thing I can find is 3.5...which looks like they will fit.

Not gonna fit. it is a hard to find 3 inch. I do have one of them not blown. I found them at the junkyard a while back.

simply not enough space tehre for anything bigger
