So I just pulled the trigger on the AVIC-Z1 yeaaa! Cant wait to get it in. So here is the other problem now. I have a 2001 Nissan Maxima w/Bose. I need to know what is the best dashkit that will give as close to stock look in terms of how flush th eunit is and gaps etc... with the Z1. There is a gxe kit that I can get but Im afraid there would still be a gap. Any ideas/advice?

Rod, like I was telling you before...the Scosche kit does not MATCH the dash well but fits. The GXE vent assembly, which only MAXIMA members know about, is an OEM part that MATCHES the dash perfectly, does not offer perfect fitment, and costs a lot more.

This is Igor's scosche kit

This is my AVN with the GXE dash kit.

It is a TRADEOFF, you cannot have both. It is one or the other unless you feel like getting involved with fiberglass, or making holes in your mounting brackets and cutting ABS plastic. Any of these options = more time spent = more money spent.

Nowwww I see what you're saying!!! Thanks a lot Nilesh! I see the Scosche doesnt mach the color but matches fitment, the gxe matches color perfectly but does not match fitment exactly. Ughhh Decisions decisions. Thanks for your help.

*EDIT* Ive decided that Im going to go with the Scosche kit. I actually really like the way Igor's navi looks on that pic it loks much more sotck and flush although the color is a little off it still looks better to me; he said he actually had the gxe kit installed and liked the look of this one better and I would agree. Thanks for finding the pics for me and putting them side by side. So Scosche it is. Thanks buddy and now I saved some bucks too! Thanks man I really appreciate all you are doing for me.

I like the first kit. Fit > perfect color match, imo.

You might be able to get that kit painted to match the rest, or vice versa. You could always pull the rest of the center bezel and other trim pieces, and have them custom painted to match the exterior of the car, clearcoat and all. That would be a slick custom look. Just a thought.
