help with headunit

ok iv wired my alpine harness to my gm harness, then connected the gm harness to the car and then alpine harness to alpine but it dosent turn on?!

and now even when the alpine isent connected the car acts wierd, now the brights are on when u turn on lights and when u turn on brights the brights turn off, and the turn signle light in the dash is kinda light up and when u hit a left or right turn signal they both turn on

WTF!!?!?! this shit is pissing me off, i know i wired it all correctly cus youd have to be a moron not to do it right but its still not workin iv already pulled it out 3 times to check wiring and each time it looks ok , ahhhh im stumped //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif :crap: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif :crying:

on some GM harness the accesory wire is not hooked up on the factory harness. to get power t-tap or solder in a wire into the brown or orange wire on the ignition harnes and connect to your red accessory wire on your harness. brown is frirst accessory and orange is second accessory . good luck let me know if that was the problem

what do you mean something may be fried? and i went back and checked all my wiring, its all connected right

also i forgot to post that a positive dimmer comming from the GM harness that is unused, is this have anything to do with it? its orange with a white line ??

is this what you were talking about eutanner? you said i should connect it to the red wire? the red wire is labeled as "12 volt ignition / acc"

from your other post in the other section about this...

Re: positive dimmer wire?

positive dimmer is illumination. when you turn on your headlights, or parking lights, the units controls light up. Your manual will have an actual break out of what the wires from the alpine are for. Some may not be matching.

ps, you may have to ground your HU to the car separately. The harness might not have a ground wire.

theres a serperate illumination wire though,

and i tried puttin that other wire on the red wire and i connected it and that totally fuxd shit up, that wasent smart but i guess it wasent a smart idea it made a whining sound and when i turned on headlights they wouldent even come on, but luckily when i unplugged the alpine it went back to normal...

i baught this headunit used , do you think somethings wrong with it? i checked all the wiring , do you want me to post a pic of what it looks like?

" Your manual will have an actual break out of what the wires from the alpine are for. Some may not be matching.

ps, you may have to ground your HU to the car separately." how do i find out if this information is true? this is a whole lotta bs for a simple head unit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

edit:;

wait i have a positive dimmer AND illumination

comming from the gm harness there is a orange wire illumination, and then there is an orange and white called positive dimmer, i had illumination connected to "dash light (illumination)" on the alpine harness

should i connect both illumination and positive dimmer on the gm side to illumination on the alpine harness?
