sue me, its a ford.
Ive never had an amped front stage, and now is the time for that to change. Im looking to do 4 5x7 (6x8) speakers and 1 or 2 pairs of tweets on a jbl 4 channel amp. Does anyone know of any decent 5x7 that are at a good price point? Should i run the 4 speakers off 2 channels and the tweets off the other 2 and use an xover? Im new to this.Thanks.

you've been a member for 3 years, have had 6k posts, and dont know how to install an amped component system, bahahaha

just get a 4ch amp, run fronstage of the front two channels, rearstage of the reartwo channels. Crossovers are pretty self explanatory once you have them. four wires in from the tweeter/midbass, two wires out ot the amp.

Yes im serious, i am a newb to amped components, i have never installed them.
Lol man I remember you. You've been around for a while...search much? Read through threads? GM cars come with 5x7s? I thought only Ford, Mazda, Chrysler, Kia. Guess so...

Dude get some 6.5 components and bridge your amp. Don't bother with 5x7s...unless you want rear speakers for passengers, then just run the rears off the HU.

Nobody i know around here has an amped front stage, lol. Ill be the first.

It would be no problem installing it, i just wanted to get some advice from those who have

and i want speakers in the rear, im not going for ultimate in sound quality, i want loud and clear and its going in a mountaineer.

pioneer 6.5 components come with a 5x7 adaptor plate and imo sound good. get the d series components. you can find them for 150. you will like them

Non-round speakers have more propensity for the cone to distort. An oval is not as strong as a cone. Highschool science tells us this.

With that said, the relative weakness of an oval cone may not become a huge factor. Some companies these days are making some nice oval coned speakers. Id love to try some of ID's new 6x9's, for example.

But yeah I tend to agree. Nobody makes a nice 5x7 that I know of. In that size you will only find low to medium quality speakers intended for the budget minded noob who doesn't know any better than to replace his factory speakers with exactly the same size.

You say you want all these speakers and tweeters because you want it 'loud and clear'. Do you really believe you cant acquire loud and clear results from a 2-soundsource setup, considering the music is recorded in stereo? If you put tweeters behind you, you dont want loud and clear, you want that techo-club sound.
