Well, i haev been trying to sell my 300A O.G. alt for a while (just to buy an internal reg'd one) but no one seem interested. My 4K will be here tomarow and that is the final piece I am waiting on for my new setup so i guess i am just going to use it. However i have no clue how to hook up the external reg...

Anybody tell me how?

if needed, here is a pic of my alt. pigtail:

Mine wires up like this :

Pos on the regulator hooks to a switched ignition 12v

Neg & Fld are wired to the connector that plugs to the alt.

Mine came with the connector prewired and landed on the Neg & Fld terminals on the regulator. All i had to do was wire up the Pos 12v for the regulator and plug the alternator up with the new connector. I left all the OEM alternator wiring on the truck, but tied it back and no longer use it.

You could find the neg on the plug with a DMM, by checking continuity from the wire to the alternator casing. The Fld can be found by checking for voltage when alternator is spun. Good luck, ive got to go for today, if your still unsure you can contact Dave at DCPower 2morrow, 1-888-441-0144. Im not very familiar with the GM alternators but Dave knows about their connections.
