Help with enclosure for 12" aq hdc4

Enclosure volume does not effect port volume.... The displacement capabilities determine the port area of the subwoofer. Since AQ doesn't list the Xmax of the sub I'm assuming its around 25mm, with a tuning of 36 hz 50in^2 of port area would be about the minimum I would use.
youre an idiot. say the enclosure is 3.5 cu ft. 3.5*16=56. 16sq inches of port per cu ft would be 56sq inches of port. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif and the xmax is not the only parameter used to determine the amount of port area that is needed...

Using volume to find the port area is a flawed method. While it will "work" from time to time it is not the best option.
I do not use the volume to find the port area. I simply just state port area as xx sq inches per xx cu ft. its just a diff. way of saying it, instead of saying xxsq inches of port.
