Help with ED subs, 11KV2's

Please help, I had two ED 9KV2's in a proted enclosure that sounded great! Decided to go to 2-11 KV2's. I think it is louder, but not so sure the sound is "bettter". They are in a proted enclosure tuned to 35 HRZ.

Would one 12" of better quality in a portred enclosure sound better? Say a JL W6 or something? I am using a JL 500/1 amp in a Mazda 3 hatch.

Do they sound as good as the first ones? If so, then why try to change it? To you, the first set sounded great, now you have a louder version of the same thing. Certainly nothing wrong with that...
