Help with dip in my rta

Using rew I've got my setup tuned pretty close to the Harmon curve. The only issue I'm having, is that I have a terrible dip at 2k and a terrible spike at 20k. Could this be my truck cab? I've only deadened my front doors. I'm only running a front stage consisting of a 6.5 and 3/4 silk some tweets in each door running active through a 80prs.

lower all the other midbass/midrange frequencies till they get even with the 2k, then raise the speaker level of the mids and give the 2khz range a 1 or 2 db boost.

Or raise your crossover point higher if its only around 2k

The 20khz, you are **** out of luck since the 80 prs has no ability to change that. 20khz wont be that audible for you anyways.

correct me if im wrong but we want a slight dip in the 1-2khz range due to our perceived loudness thinking those frequencies are louder than they really are?

Mids are 100-5k with a 18db slope on the low side, and 12db slope on the high side. The tweets are at 5k with a 18db slope. I didn't think about bringing the rest of the curve down and adding gain. I have the gains on my head unit at about -6db. So I still have plenty of room to pull eq and add gain.

What tweeter is it? You are asking the mids to go way to high. If it's not a good tweeter you will

Have to bring the rest down but the mid will still be playing to high

Or add a 3in wide bander in the middle

Or get better tweeters

I'll have to look at the back of the tweets. They are mb quart 3/4" silk dome that came in the component set. I'm thinking that this may be the best they can do. Time to get better 6.5s and better tweets. I'll try lowering the crossovers and bring the eq curve down.

They are about 7 years old, but I think they were the China made mb quarts. I'm thinking the vifa tweets Tim has for sale is a pretty good deal. I've been looking at Dayton audio for the 6.5s, but all i see are 8ohm. Idk if I have the watts to run the 8ohm ones, I'd prob be at about 50w per channel at 8ohm.
