Help with Decent 10" budget subs for .75 sealed

Yeah from all ive gathered from multiple forums and PM's for small sealed enclosures where mounting depth is an issue you cant go wrong with the RE SR10s/12's ID's/IDQ's or Dayton HF's. all are 5" - 5.75"MD and all will work in .65-.80ft^3 WELL.

Other than mounting depth why wouldn't Kicker's L7 or L5 be in the running? Is it inferior to the other brands you've found?

I'm really screwed here lol. I can't decide between ported or sealed. I think I'm going to have to go sealed because of the thing shape of the enclosure and the limited airspace I've got. I have a max mounting depth of 7.5 and 9" along the bottom behind my rear seat and a top depth of 3".

I could feet one ported 10 or two seals 10s. I could probably fit a couple ported 8s.

I just can't figure out what will sound the best.

my amp is 300w @ 2ohm final load.

How did you determine 10s would be perfect for you?

kicker makes good stuff. I was going more for SQ though . not that kickers sound bad they are built more for SPL. you just have to look at what the speakers are designed to work in. if the mounting depth is good and the box is the right size your golden. figure it this way what is the maximum cubic feet you have to work with? and with only 300watts 1 10 or 1 12 would be about all you could push. whats wrong with the JBL gto you have in your sig.?

do you have any experience with them? what size sub/enlosure? power? how did they sound.

lots of people recommend these subs but ive seen not one review of a 10 or 12" with how they sounded or what size enclosure is best or how much power they need... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

The 1202D reqs 1 cu ft^3 sealed and I'd only have room for one of them. I had them in my F150 in a .68 cu ft^3 and they sounded great but I felt they lacked the deep bass I like. They sounded great with rock and alternative but I listen to more bass filled rap music now.

I've got a total of 2.5 cubic feet of airspace behind the seat. I can probably use 2 of it as pure airspace.

I had two 1202Ds in my last truck but I simply can't fit them in this vehicle. I'd be running them at .44 each. That's basically going backwards in producing the deep bass I want.

In addition, I can't fit my amps under the the rear seat and retain the fold down seat feature that I use daily. So, I'd have to mount them elsewhere or on the enclosure.

All these work for me so far. Actually I don't think the 10W6 will be the optimum driver because it's only a dual 4ohm and it has a pretty deep mounting depth.

The Kicker's seem great on airspace and cone area. I like their look and their rep.

The JL 13TW5 would be the absolute perfect fit but I should probably upgrade to at least a 500.1 to get the most out of that sub. The price is a huge issue also.

you have a good amount of space. do you have an enclosure already we need to know exacly what enclosure your going to be using. putting together a system for crew cabs behind the seat is ass backwards we need to find the right box first then pick subs. most people pick subs then build/pick an enclosure to match the specs.

you have a few options

1 good 12" ported

2 12's sealed

2 10s sealed or ported.

if you want that real deep bass id look into a 1 good 12 ported.

but i think first you need to get a amp with more power a good single 12 should take 600-800 watts. and 2 10s or 12 will need atleast 300each 500 would be better.

check out the new jl w0v2. they just started shipping and the 10 can be had for around $99. it looks like a good, well built driver and seems to be a fare price also.

Agreed with this here. Since you have the unit pulled out of the car/dash...test it at your car battery directly for operation. very simple to do...

Yeah, put the probes on the power wire and ground wire of the amplifier. Multimeter on DC. Do not put it on the wires that go to your speakers. M
