HELP with Coustic 268u

Ok so just bought a Coustic power logic 268u from someone on here, it works and im happy with it, its fused with 1x30a fuse and rated at 50wx4 at 4ohms. The weird thing about this amp is that it has 4 leds on the top 1 for power, protect, front max, and rear max. My question is whats the front and rear max for? is it telling me im maxing out the power for the channels, should i stay away from the max and adjust the gains so the lights dont come on, id like the vocals to get loud but to stay out of max the gain has to be lower than half and they arent very loud at all when set at that gain. so what should i do, is it safe to run them in the max area?

im not familiar with the amp, but it sounds like max=clipping, and clipping is bad of course. google that shit son

lol i thought about clipping too but the vocals stay super crisp even with the gain real high, also even with everything set for highs i get some bass, is this normal and will it be ok for running tweeters on it?

it might not be clipping.. the only real way to tell is a sinewave analyzer.. thing is Id say if its not distorted its ok but some people listen to 10%thd before they hear it and some simply don't care...

id avoid those lights just in case, clipping can kill a speak. turn it up til just before they come on lol

that was the plan but i plan on running this with real powerful tweeters so they should blow, im just taking measures to make sure the amp doesnt blow.

tune to where it sounds good never mind the blinking light... I don't think it's a dead nutz indicator of clipping and it surely is not solid... I ran it forever on my PPI comps and it doesn't even get warm to the touch after an hour of straight music and really made those comps sing.

agreed, don't worry about the lights. set your gains with a DMM and test tones or a oscilloscope and test tones if you are concerned.

as far as running active and powering tweeters off channels that have bass - your HPF is set wrong. tweeters need a 2kHz or higher crossover point typically. there is zero bass or even mids in that setting. your amp would have to have a switch labeled x10 for the crossover frequency.
