Cant the 1/2 just be pulled out of the integral since it is a constant (not dependent on x)? (and it convienently makes the problem easier)

you pull it out cause

| c * x dx

is equal to

c | x dx

and makes the inside of the integral easier....

("|" is the integral sign)

read up on the properties of integrals....I think this is the associative or commutative I forgot...but yea man this is just algebra....

OK. Try this.

Since you have 2x in the denominator, 2 is a constant, and can be pulled out of the integral. Since it is in the denominator, it is 1/2. Then you can continue to solve the integral since it now is 1/2*(integral of (lin4x)/x).

u=ln4x

d=4/4x dx = 1/x dx

Now everything matches up... finish it up.

If you having this much trouble, consider a tutor, because you need it.
