I am helping my 17-year old niece upgrade her car stereo in her 12 year old Ford Escape. I already bought her a Pioneer DEH X7500S head unit that will be a Christmas gift. I am going to give her an old Kenwood KAC-742 4 channel amp that has been sitting in my closet for about 10 years. This is a 30-watt RMS per channel amp and should be a nice upgrade for her.

Her vehicle has two-way 5x7 components up front and 5x7 coaxials in the back doors. There is no sub. I am looking at JBL GTO8608C 2-ways to go up front and at this time not doing anything for the back speakers.

A possible issue I have with the JBLs is that they are 2 ohm speakers. I am pretty sure the back speakers are 4 ohm. Will this cause problems with the amplifier? Should I make sure all speakers have the same ohm rating?

Does anybody have any recommendations for her front stage? I chose the JBLs because they were 5x7s and figure that would be the easiest installation and I can get them for only about $80. Any input would be helpful.
