Hello just got my XXX 15 in the mail today //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryexcited.gif.c26a15f316d23068607f36ddacd7a7ab.gif . This thing is insane. I put it next to an old type r 12 and RF he2 15 and almost started laughing. But anyways I am looking to build a box to go in a 95 bmw 325i. This is my first all out system. I am thinking of going sealed simply because I think it will be more than loud enough for me, and also because I have never built a box before, and I can't think of anyone I know that has built a nice ported box. Because of this I figured I could start out by building a sealed box and then work up to a ported. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/help.gif.cee8f684da1ba626487a8bc51152e1ec.gif I also have a gift certificate to a stereo shop which could design me a custom box- do you think that would be a good way to go ported for now, anyone ever paid for a box at a shop and gotten a shitty one in return(would like to build a fiberglass box for it once I have enough $ to spend in materials to learn how //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif ? Anyways if you think I will be happy sealed I will try that out. The dimensions I have come up with sealed are 17.5" tall 17.5" wide and 16.5" deep, which if I am correct after the wood (3/4 mdf) would be 16x16x15, which equals 3840/1728=2.222 which after sub displacement would be 2.011. I was also wondering, RE reccomends a box size of 2 ft, this is after all displacement correct?(i know I can call but I am hoping someone can tell me and I don't have to spend any $ i dont have on phone calls //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif ). I have one final question I have a 1000 watt amp currently, (which won't be upgraded for a few months) if I were to make the box a little bigger-- say 2.4ft^3 would it be louder since I am not able to feed it the 1500 it likes??(was told something about achieving greater xmax with less power through bigger box) maybe this is something too advanced for me to even think about don't know?? I am great with numbers if that matters. Any help or answers to any question would be greatly helpful. If you took the time to read these 50 pages of questions, thanks. And to any that are willing to help thank you very much in advance.
