help with box design

I have an ID IDQ 12 D4 V.3 sub in a sealed box right now, I would like to build a ported one to try it out in.

ID recommends a 1.9 cubic foot box tuned to 28hz with a 4" round port 13.80" long.

The box I have room for can be no more than 35" wide and 16" tall, depth can be up to 14" or so. So if I have a box that was 22.5 x 14.5 x 10.5 (internal dimensions) that would give me 1.98 cubic foot box (sub has .05 displacement). What dimension/length would a square port have to be to be tuned to 28hz? The port would be 14.5" tall.

thanks for any help

It needs to be 1.9 cubic feet after all displacements. A slot port alone will take up quite a bit of room. If you want to go with similar dimensions, make it just slightly bigger: 2.05 cubic feet, and make a side-firing aeroport.

But if you don't mind making the box a bit bigger, I'm sure someone on here will figure out the dimensions for you.

ahh okay.. little bigger is fine, whatever it needs to be to give 1.9 cubic feet after displacement. Anyone able to design something for me?

thanks!
