Help with Big 3 wire upgrade

Hi, just wanted to know if I should leave or replace the stock wire from the alternator to the fuse box (in the fuse box the wire connects to an 100 AMP fuse then, to a conductor which splits into a 10 AMP fused line which carries continuous power back to a terminal in the alternator and then into an unfused line which connects directly to the battery). I wanted to add a 0 gauge wire alongside the existing stock wire and connect both to the alternators output terminal, and the other end of the 0 gauge directly to the battery. This would just act like a back-up to the existing stock wire.

What should I do in this situation?

Thanks, So then all I should do is run the 0 gauge from the alternator to the battery, leaving the stock wire also connected to the alternator and then replace the battery-chassis and engine block-chassis grounds to complete my upgrade?
