Help with AVIC n1

i juss got my avic-n1 installed professional installer yesterday, well....first off, he couldnt find the speed censor wire for my 98 2.3 CL. do you guys know where that wire is and what color that is? also when i tried my navigation, it totally off where i am off by a block plus its not pointing at the right direction where im going where it suppose to. my guide mode doesnt work and this other mode doesnt work for navigation. do u know what would be the problem is? are those problem caused becaused i dont have my speed censor connected?

i would apprieciate you guys help.

If you got it new, doesn't sound like this install was so 'professional'...bring it somewhere else

yeah chances are the installer f'ed up. It'd be understandable if the reciever was used though.

A. The installer that you had to your install doensn't sound all that professional to me.

B. Most likely the installer didn't orient the hide-away or "brain" correctly. It must be mounted in a certain direction in order for the internal gyroscope to work correctly. The funny part is there are big *** arrows on top of the brain to tell you which way to mount it.

C. The block off thing could be related to where he mounted the GPS antenna. Where?

D. I will check Directeds Database tomorrow if i can remember and let you know about the VSS Wire.

y would it matter if the unit was used?

because if it is used that increases the chances of the unit being bad... but yeah like chrye said... the unit has to be facing a certain direction for the arrow to show you the correct direction... are you inserting the navigation disc? i've had mine installed since a mid december... and it's working fine with no speed sensor connected... no wiring diagram had one for my car yet... but it still shows my speed and everything works perfectly...

Your speed sense wire is an Orange wire and can be located at the PCM which is under the passenger dash, under the floor board.
