help with amp shutting off

hey guys, i have an ap3000 hooked up to 2 12" zcons, 220+amp powerbasterds alt clarion eq, sony hu, optima batt, cheap 0 ga. going back and 2 layers of good 4 ga. wire for my big 3 (i ran out of 0 ga.) ... well i had a jl 1000/1 with no problems befor and right when i got the ap3000 it cuts off for just a split sec. every once and a while at high volume, i checked the volts up front at the batt when playing loud and got in the 12s but when reading it in the back at the amp it drops in the 10s, think i need better wiring going back or what?????????

possibly...though what ohm load did you wire your subs to? just thinking about the regulated power supply the slash amp has versus me not knowing how the supply on your current amp works...

there dual 2 and at first had them each at 1 ohm to each chan. now i got them together at 2 ohm

Impedence issue I'm guessing that amp is technically 2 ohm stable and isn't it a mono amp ?

Each sub in series then both in parallel for a 2 ohm load.

Your going to need a little more then a yellow top for that amp, and better wire. Possibly even two runs from the front back

Get a nice d3100 bat for the rear knuconeceptz 0 gauge and you will be set right now your killing your alt

1/0 gauge should be good, but since it's cheap it might not be actual 1/0 gauge. If it has awg (American Wire Gauge) on it somewhere then it's a legitimate wire size. You may have to possibly run 2/0 or 3/0 wire, or you could run 2 1/0 wires to a distribution block to the amp. The alternator is 220+ amps so thats defiantly fine, but I would look into installing a second battery. Look into the Kinetik battery line, they work great and are very powerful. I would also replace the 2 4 gauge wires in the big three with 1/0 wire also though and make sure thats its solid connections on everything. Grounds also the same size as the power wire. The impedance could be the issue also but the reason for the voltage drop is defiantly the power wire/ground and no second battery. Hope this helps man.

^^^^ This! If you want to be safe and do it right this is how. If you do not do this you risk damaging your battery, alt, and equipment.
