hey all i just hooked up a eclipse 34230 amp up today and it worked fine for 30min, i was playing a song that was bass heavy and i turned it up slightly above normal and the amp cut out. i cant get it to come back on. i checked the remote wire the fuses, the power and ground conects and all is good. the amp just wont get any power.

x2 if the main fuse isnt blown as well, if you got good voltage everywhere. You clipped the amp until it went out aka it died foo. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I just told you how to check. A protect circuit resets every time your remote lead quits giving +12 (when your head unit shuts off). If you turned the ignition off and the head unit went off, and turned it back on, you reset the protect circuit if there was one and it was engaged. Also, just because an amp has a protect circuit doesn't mean it is invincible. If your under hood fuse is in tact, I'm pretty certain you blew the amp.

im sorry im just confused ive setup alot of amps, but it has been 10years. i ran the power wire with 4g from the batt to a 150amp fuse then to the amp. was the fuse too large? how would i have fried the amp?

Well you fuse to the wire you are using which in your case is 4 guage and a 150 amp fuse isnt bad IIRC that is dead on. More then likely it was a dirty signal the amp was clipping and it blew. Did the amp get pretty hot at the time of its death?

no heat nothing it has crazy crossovers built in and i turned them on. would it help to turn the gain back down and turn the x-overs off? could it be not kicking on becase of a failed x-over?

You could try turning all your gains down bro, but to be honest it sounds blown. Any lights on power up or anything?? have you checked its guts?? Umm disconnecting the subs, then rca's, kinda just gotta mess with it to be honest. Id try the subs then the rca's see what you get out of it.
