Help with amp power issue

Hey i have a sony xplod amp, i got a good deal on it lol, and it used to work fine. Yesterday everything was working, until i unplugged everything and attached my amp to my sub box. I plugged everything back in and now it doesn't turn on. It will turn on briefly if hold the power cable at a certain angle so it touches the amp's power cable screw and it's remote wire screw. I think the ground and remote wires and thier connections are fine. The place I think the problem is is where the power wire attaches to the amp. I tried putting on a new ring terminal but nothing happened. Did i short out the amp, or where my power cable attaches to it? Also, i used metal screws to screw my amp to my box, could that have any effect?

Thanks in advanced - Matt

sounds like if you touch the power wire to the remote wire it gets the 12v signal it needs and works... it appears that your remote wire is having issues. At least thats what I get out of it with the rough grammar skills.

Sounds like the remote wire is messed up. Try bridging the +12V terminal on the amp to the remote wire with a small piece of wire (speaker wire, whatever you have lying around will work). Just put one side of the wire to the +12v terminal and the other end into the remote just to test it. I'm guessing it's going to work by what you've said.
