Help with Amp choice. Xenon Orion2500d

Im gonna be messing aroudn with a bunch of subs in the next couple of months. Probley 2 Rlp's Single 13w7 Maybe a havoc. Which amp would be better. I know the orion puts out alot mroe power at 1 ohm. Maybe even the viper2500d. That still puts out over 1000 at 4 ohms. I was thinking the xenon 1200 has flexablity. but so does the other 2 cause of so much power. Which is the best quality amp If price wasent an issue? Im looking for total SQ with ablity to get loud just not Sql..... more on the SQ side. Maybe 2 idmax's

For SQ I'd probably go with an A/B amp. From the two choices the Xenon will probably be the "better" amp but the Orion/Viper is one HELLACIOUS amplifier. It will do all you want and then some.

If you want to do some serious testing of the subs, go the DEI route. Otherwise go for the Xenon.

the xenon had a history of failing in the first batch, but these amps seem so different to compare. the xenon of course is more flexible and better for experimenting with subs

i dont think it has more flexablity. Cause even the viper at its weakest point is more power then the xenon...... im just trying to Think which would be better.

It delivers full power at any ohm load form 1-4. So yes it does have more flexibility. If you run the orion @ 4 ohms dont expect any where near full power. If you honestly feel that the pg isnt any more flexible then the orion, then go ahead and get the orion. Problem solved.

dont waste your money on xenon maps..... my bro runs xenon in his acura..... 6 xenon 12's and 3 1200.1's..... he has ran thru 3 now.... excessive heat and clipping failure, which led to malfunction..... go with orion or hifonics ....

clipping = user error. Not the amps or Manufacturer.

for sq go wit the jl 1000/1 something from autotek before the merge, zapco, older ppi, if you want more bang for the buck look to the gods, hifonics for those who dont no about that, i havent herd anythng good about xenon

I own the 1200.1 and the 200.4. Everybody talks about the early batches and their problems. I have owned mine for a year and some change and have had no problems what so ever. As for your brothers amp clipping, yes it is user error hopefully the shop where they were installed replaced them unless your bro went crazy with the gains and etc... As far as being overpriced that really doesnt make any sense, as a matter of fact I bought mine b/c of their price. I looked at their features and they do the same thing as the JL amps at half the PRICE (and as also posted they are overbuilt)! Get the Xenon if you are going to be changing setups. Yeah If you have the cash, get the Jl. Alot of people say what he says "havent heard anything good about xenons" b/c there a few people that actually own them. Lots of threads out there about the 1st batch being crappy and that tends to scare people away.
